The Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, is set to swear in the new Deputy Governor, Murtala Sule Garo, today (Tuesday).
This was contained in an official notice issued on Monday by the Special Adviser on Information to the Governor, Ibrahim Adam, announcing details of the ceremony.
According to the notice, the event is scheduled to be held at the Coronation Hall of the Government House, Kano, at 11:00 am.
The government called on political stakeholders and residents to attend the event, which marks a significant development in the state’s political leadership.
Also confirming the development to The PUNCH in a telephone interview on Monday, a close associate of Garo, Aminu Ahmed, said the swearing-in would be held as scheduled.
“Maybe you may have come across the fact that the swearing-in will be tomorrow morning. The governor has already invited stakeholders, party loyalists and members of the public to attend the ceremony,” he said.

The development follows the resignation of the former deputy governor, Aminu Gwarzo.
His resignation followed the defection of Yusuf to the All Progressives Congress, after he dumped his political godfather, Dr Rabiu Kwankwaso and the party, New Nigeria People’s Party.
Gwarzo remained with Kwankwaso after Yusuf’s defection and later followed the former governor to the African Democratic Congress.
