A LAWYER has explained why it is particularly difficult to steal items from Target.
The influencer claimed he’s never represented a shopper who has been accused of stealing from the retail giant.

In a viral video, Maverick Ray (@dopest_lawyer) speculated on the reasons why this may be the case.
He said: “It’s either really frickin easy to steal from Target.
“Maybe they just have incredible brand loyalty or maybe they just have top-notch security that you can’t walk out of that store without them knowing.”
Quizzing the popular chain, Ray captured the clip: “Target, what is your secret?”
Fans have said Target stores have “top-notch” loss prevention officers and technology that helps the chain keep theft down.
Target is known for its robust anti-theft policy, per Best Stocks.
Experts have revealed that high-tech security cameras and on-site security guards act as a deterrent against shoppers who are potentially thinking about stealing items.
Target, like other chains, has seen profits impacted by theft.
In May, Brian Cornell, the retailer’s CEO, warned that organized retail crime is worsening, as reported by CNBC.
Cornell warned that the company’s losses from theft could rise by $500 million.
Target has resorted to implementing a raft of strategies to mitigate the impact of theft on the business.
The chain has resorted to locking items in cabinets – a policy that is unpopular among some shoppers.
Some have claimed the measure has turned shopping into a game.
“It doesn’t make it a fun, happy shopping experience,” Sydney Burgmann told the Seattle CBS affiliate KIRO.
The measure is part of a multi-layered approach to tackling theft, according to the retailer.
Target is training store associates and security personnel so they can protect themselves and de-escalate situations.
And, the retailer is working alongside officials at the US Department of Homeland Security Investigations division.
But, despite investing in technology and rolling out anti-theft deterrents, the company has been forced into closing some stores.
In October, Target closed outlets in the Bay Area of California, Portland, Seattle, and New York City.
“We cannot continue operating these stores because theft and organized retail crime are threatening the safety of our team and guests, and contributing to unsustainable business performance,” the chain said.
Target is not the only chain that has pounded the alarm when it comes to the impact of retail theft.
Scott Glenn, the vice president of asset protection at The Home Depot, has warned staffers have been threatened with violence.
“These individuals [suspected shoplifters] are becoming increasingly aggressive,” he told Fox Business.
“They are dangerous and often care little about any consequence other than getting out of the store with as much product as possible.
“Our associates have been threatened with knives, guns, and other physical attacks.”
Ted Decker, the chain’s CEO, previously described organized retail crime as a big problem.
Last year, Doug McMillon, the CEO of Walmart, warned theft was historically higher than it had been.
He speculated on how shoplifting could have an impact on consumers.
McMillon expressed fears that the impact of theft could see prices rise and potentially store closures.
