A Nigerian widow, Uba Princess Chidinma, has sparked a public conversation after taking to Facebook to declare that her three children should never be taken to their late father’s house in the event of her d3ath.

In a post dated Tuesday, May 4, 2026, Chidinma revealed that her decision is rooted in a desire to protect her children rather than a place of malice. “A place that rejects innocent children doesn’t deserve their presence,” she stated, adding that she wants her sons to grow up where they are “celebrated, not tolerated.”

The widow has previously accused her brothers-in-law of seizing her late husband’s property and abandoning his children, despite the support her husband reportedly provided them while he was alive. The family dispute has also entered the legal arena; Chidinma alleged that her husband’s elder brother claimed in court that she was merely a mistress and that no legal marriage ever took place.

Citing the need for a stable and loving environment, she expressed her wish for her children to be ra ised by her own siblings, ensuring they grow up under the “watchful eyes” of those who truly care for their well-being.

“For documentation purposes… I have three beautiful boys. My whole world, my strength, my reason. If tomorrow I am nowhere to be found, let it be clearly known—my children should never be taken to their late father’s house,” she wrote. 

 

“Not out of spite, not out of anger, but out of protection. They are not loved there. And a place without love is not a home. The community has good people, yes. Kind souls who have shown care.

“But his family… they have made their hearts known. A place that rejects innocent children does not deserve their presence. 

 

“My boys will grow under the watchful eyes of my siblings—especially our last born, who knows my heart and will carry this responsibility with love and fear of God. I trust them with everything I have, everything I am. I have labored, I have sacrificed, I have secured lands for my sons so they will never wander, never beg, never search for where to belong. 

 

“Their future will not be built on rejection, but on the foundation I have laid with tears, strength, and silent prayers. 

 

“Do I feel shaken writing this? No. Do I carry hate in my heart? No. Because people who can hate innocent children—children of their own brother, a man who gave so much for them—have already chosen who they are. 

 

“To me, they no longer exist. All I ask is this: protect my boys. Love them. Let them grow where they are celebrated, not tolerated. Because every child deserves a place where they are seen… where they are safe… where they are truly loved.”
