‘If money comes, you will do it too’ — BBNaija’s Phyna tells BBL critics

Winner of Big Brother Naija season seven, Ijeoma Josephine Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has sparked online conversation after sharing her views on cosmetic surgery, especially the Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), during a recent livestream.

Reacting to comments often directed at former reality TV contestants, Phyna said financial ability, not morality, shapes how people view cosmetic surgery. 

She argued that many critics would make similar choices if they had the resources.

“You always say once someone wins Big Brother or goes on the show, they start doing things to their body. My dear, if you had money, do you know what you would do? Imagine you had N20 million, you’re not even using as a woman, you would go and have surgery. Don’t let anybody deceive you.

“It’s because you are broke. Even me, I admit it’s because of money. It’s nothing else, I swear to God, I won’t lie to you.

“Right now, your thinking is clouded. You’re wondering,‘Why are they doing this?’ My sister, it’s the money you don’t have that’s why you’re criticizing it. Don’t worry, if money comes your way, you will do it too,” she said.
