A TARGET shopper shared her experience of being wrongly accused of theft.
Alex, a TikTok user, said this was the first time something like that ever happened to her and she called it “the weirdest thing ever.”

She said she was in the beauty section of Target when she was accused of stealing.
Alex was browsing for around 15 to 20 minutes when an employee grew suspicious of her.
“So this man walks up to me, I think he’s loss prevention or security,” she said.
“He came up to me and he’s like ‘You can’t put makeup in your bag.'”
Alex thought it was a wild accusation as she was holding all of the items she wanted to buy in her hands.
The security guard told he she had to put it in a cart instead of her bag, but she hadn’t put anything in the bag.
“I was like ‘I don’t know what you’re talking about, I have my makeup that I wanna purchase in my hand,'” she said.
“He’s like ‘I’m just saying, if you wanna purchase it you can’t put it in your bag.'”
She said the security guard only saw her bag and her holding makeup and wanted to tell her not to put it in the bag.
“I asked him why are you looking in my bag?” Alex said.
“‘Why are you looking so closely in my bag specifically. Do you have a problem with me?”
She said the whole experience was weird, and commenters on the post agreed.
“Idk if target does this but at my retail store we can get fired if we accuse someone of stealing so we say things to get around it,” one comment said.
“Maybe he thought he was “saving you”. Doing you a favor by telling you to take what he thought was stolen makeup out of your bag for purchase. His show of chivalry,” another comment said.
