Alia stated this when he received the 2027 APC governorship expression of interest and nomination forms purchased on his behalf by the Benue State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP) and the Benue State Motorcycle Hirers Association at the Government House in Makurdi yesterday.
The governor said the reconciliation and peace meeting would hold today.
LEADERSHIP Sunday had earlier reported that Governor Alia, George Akume’s camps and other key stakeholders in the state APC chapter planned to hold a make or mar reconciliation meeting ahead of the party’s primaries and 2027 general elections.
Our correspondent had gathered that if the much-anticipated meeting brings genuine reconciliation after three years of the party’s internal wrangling, one of the outcomes would be sharing or ceding of positions within the APC state exco and selection of 2027 consensus candidates that would fly the party’s tickets that would accommodate all the interests.

Confirming the meeting, Governor Alia stated, “I wrote a letter to Secretary to the government of the Federation, Senator George Akume inviting him and all different groups, members of the senate, members the House of representatives and members of the Benue State House of Assembly to hold internal meeting of the APC.
“The timing was some bit of challenge to shift here and there. We all agreed that tomorrow Sunday all APC members will come pray and become one. We call for this meeting because what divides us is not stronger, what unites us is larger, bigger and bigger.”
