“I am proud of you” – Saidi Balogun tells ex-wife, Faithia Williams following her movie premiere

Nollywood actor Saidi Balogun has expressed pride in his ex-wife, Faithia Williams following her movie premiere.

Kemi Filani reported on Sunday that the movie star had premiered her much-talked-about movie, Efunroye, with lots of her colleagues in attendance.

Sharing clips from the premiere, Saidi congratulated Faithia as he expressed how proud he is of her.

At the premiere, Faithia and Saidi had left many gushing, as they twinned in matching outfits, with one of their sons. The former couple also arrived at the premiere together and Faithia had opened up about their relationship.

While promoting her movie, Faithia had given Saidi his flowers. She described him as a veteran powerhouse, filmmaker, director, and screen icon. She spoke about his role in her movie and called him a true legend whose journey from stage to silver screen inspires generations.

Despite being divorced, Saidi Balogun and Faithia share a strong bond.

Last month, he had attended the wake-keep service of Faithia’s mother. In a clip from the event, the former couple were captured sitting together as they mourned her late mother.

On their birthdays in February, the former couple celebrated each other. Faithia took to his comment section to give him a birthday shout-out, calling him her ‘Efunroye King’.

At Allwell Ademola’s Service of Songs, the former couple were captured sharing a sweet moment.

Saidi and Faithia got married in 2000 at Ikorodu registry and divorced fourteen years later. Their divorce was quite messy, and Saidi, who told the court that he could not live under the same roof with his estranged wife due to irreconcilable differences, also demanded, among other requests, that Faithia drop his name, Balogun.

The former couple share two kids – Khalid and Aliyah.

In 2024, the former couple finally made peace, as for the first time in years, Saidi sent a sweet birthday note to Faithia, showering her with love and prayers. Faithia had also done the same as she sweetly celebrated Saidi Balogun’s birthday.

Faithia fueled reconciliation rumors with him as she referred to herself by her former married name, Faithia Balogun. The Yoruba actress shocked many when she addressed herself with her former marital title, Faithia Williams Balogun.
