How my husband helped me quit smoking cigarettes — Toyin Abraham

Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Toyin Abraham has shared how her husband and industry colleague, Kola Ajeyemi, influenced her decision to stop smoking cigarettes.

Speaking on the Morayo show, Toyin Abraham said she used to smoke cigarettes before her husband encouraged her to quit. 

She added that while she no longer smokes cigarettes, she still uses a vape occasionally.

“I used to smoke cigarettes, I still smoke vape once in a while but I stopped cigarettes.

“My husband told me something, then we were dating, he said when I now get pregnant you know you can’t smoke cigarettes again, when I gave birth, we went out, I smoked, he saw me and didn’t say anything, he said I didn’t tell you not to smoke cigarettes or take alcohol but the day my son see you with it that will be the end of the marriage.”

According to the actress, her husband’s words made her reconsider smoking, especially because of the example it could set for their child. 

She also praised her husband for allowing her to be herself always, saying, “He let me shine and he let me be me.”
