Presidential aspirant, Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, has distanced himself from the presidential primary process of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), alleging widespread irregularities during the exercise.
Hayatu-Deen announced on Tuesday that he would not attend the official declaration of the party’s presidential primary results, citing reports of vote manipulation across the country.
In a post shared on his X handle, the aspirant said some of the alleged irregularities were directly witnessed by him during the election process.

“I will not be attending the announcement of the ADC Presidential Election Results today. I am concerned by reports from across the country of widespread vote rigging, some of which I myself observed, and will therefore be taking advice on my next steps,” he stated.
His decision comes amid rising tension within the party following the nationwide presidential primary conducted across 8,089 wards to determine the ADC’s flag bearer for the 2027 presidential election.
