Group warns students against human trafficking

The Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation Continental Africa, Prof Jude Osakwe, has said programmes were organised to sensitise secondary school students to the dangers of human trafficking.

He disclosed this to Diaspora Tales on Thursday.

The programmes were held in secondary schools in Benin, Makurdi and Asaba, the capital cities of Edo, Benue and Delta respectively, including the Federal Capital Territory.

The tour which took place from 1st to 12th March, 2026, took place in five schools including one in Ughelli.

Speaking with our correspondent about the initiative, Osakwe said, “NIDO Africa needs to tackle the menace of human trafficking. Then, we took the sensitisation to secondary school students across some states in Nigeria.”

“We spoke to young Nigerians on the dangers of human trafficking as well as the importance of making life choices that would benefit them as they work against human trafficking schemes,” he added.

Other personalities on the sensitisation tours to the schools include the Senior Special Assistant on Morals and Diaspora Affairs to the Governor of Delta State, Mrs Favour Obakoro, and an on-air personality, Larry Chinedu, popularly known as Larry C.
