GOFUNDME has confirmed there is no reason for concern over a fundraiser page created to help support Donald Trump cover nearly $355 million in penalties for fraud.
The fundraising platform said Trump’s page is “currently within its terms and services” after some people called it a breach of the platform’s rules.

Jalen Drummond, the director of public affairs for GoFundMe confirmed its terms of service to Newsweek on Monday.
On Friday, Judge Arthur Engoron ruled Trump must pay the lump sum.
The ruling said Trump and top executives at The Trump Organization committed fraud by inflating the value of his assets to get better approval odds from finances.
“They are accused only of inflating asset values to make more money. The documents prove this over and over again,” Engoron said in the ruling.

The fundraiser is called “Stand with Trump; Fund the $355M Unjust Judgment.”
It has currently raised $686,547 as of Tuesday afternoon with the goal being the full $355 million.
There have been 13,000 donations so far.
It was created by Elena Cardone who says she is a “mother and an ardent supporter of American values and an advocate for justice.”
“I stand unwaveringly with President Donald Trump in the face of what I see as unprecedented and unfair treatment by certain judicial elements in New York.”
Cardone explained she made the GoFundMe to stand for fairness and freedom.
“The recent legal battles he faces are not just an attack on him, but an attack on the very ideals of fairness and due process that every American deserves,” the GoFundMe page said.
“In standing with Trump, we’re upholding the cause of every business owner and entrepreneur who believes in the fight against a system that increasingly seeks to penalize dissent and curb our freedoms.”
People tagged GoFundMe on X, formerly known as Twitter with their concerns over the page.
“Hey @gofundme I think you have to shut this down. Trump can’t profit from his crime according to your guidelines,” one user said.
Another user said, “Dear @gofundme, the Trump fundraiser violates your rules unless you will fund people CONVICTED of financial and violent crimes as Trump has been.”
“Hey @gofundme, isn’t it against your rules to raise money for criminals?” this user said.
According to GoFundMe’s terms of service, it does not allow a list of rules to “use the Services to raise funds or establish or contribute to any Fundraiser with the implicit or explicit purpose of promoting.”
Rule number nine on the list says it does not allow “the legal defense of alleged financial and violent crime.”
However, Drummond said, “This fundraiser is currently within our terms of service,” per Newsweek.
New York Attorney General Letitia James filed the lawsuit and originally only sought $250 million in damages.
But with the pre-judgment interest, it is expected the total will be over $450 million.
The interest will cause it to “continue to increase every single day,” James said.
