Senator Sani Ahmed Yarima, former Governor of Zamfara, has praised the election of Senator Godswill Akpabio as Senate President, citing it as a triumph for democracy which will epitomize unity of purpose, inclusiveness in governance, and stability in the polity.
Yarima congratulated both the newly-elected Senate President and his Deputy, Senator Barau Jibrin, along with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas and his Deputy, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, on their victory in the election of the Principal Officers of the 10th National Assembly.
In a press statement signed and released to the press by his media and publicity special assistant, Hon. Junaidu Dosara, Yarima expressed his belief that Akpabio and Abbas as President of the Senate and Speaker of the House of Representatives, respectively, will provide a strong, collaborative relationship between the executive and legislative branches of government while preserving their independence for the good of the country.
Yarima commended members of the National Assembly for their support in the election of the Principal Officers of the 10th National Assembly.
