Nigerian influencer and entrepreneur Laura Ikeji has been thrown into controversy following reports of her husband’s alleged affair.

According to reports making the rounds, her husband, Ogbonna Kanu, allegedly told a 23-year-old woman who had just moved to Nigeria that he was single. They dated for about 8 months, got intimate, and he even convinced her to invite friends for a thr££some.

The report claimed one of the friends recognised him and told her friend he was married to a public figure, showing her proof. When the lady confronted Ogbonna, he travelled and stopped responding, and when she tried reaching him again, she heard that he had died.

Amid the rumours, Laura shared a post on Instagram promoting her brand.

As expected, Nigerians stormed her page demanding a statement on her husband’s latest rumour.

Last year, Laura and Ogbonna celebrated their 8th wedding anniversary. She shared jaw-dropping photos of herself and her husband in matching outfits, expressing how shocked she was that they had been married for 8 years.

Following their anniversary, Laura had shared photos of her family in matching pyjamas as she counted down to Christmas.

The sister of Linda Ikeji had responded to those who questioned why she spends the festive period abroad. She explained that there are a few fun places and experiences for children in Nigeria in December. She noted how everything is a party, with concerts and fashion shows, and questioned how many she could take her kids to.

In 2024, the beauty influencer sparked separation rumours from her husband over her Christmas post. Laura shared family photos of her and her kids, excluding her husband. The younger sister of Linda Ikeji, in her caption, thanked God for her life and that of her kids, but failed to mention her husband.

Recall that Laura and Ogbonna tied the knot in holy matrimony at a traditional wedding that took place in her home town in Nkwerre LGA, of Imo state, in January, 2017.

In an Instagram post, Laura shared some insights on what it feels like to be a parent taking care of a little baby. She revealed that her and her husband, do not sleep until 3-4am every single day because they both take turns in caring for their new baby. She also further questioned how he was still able to get up every morning to go to the gym, despite sleeping so late.
