EPL: They didn’t follow instructions – Ten Hag slams five Man Utd players

Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag openly expressed his frustration with the team’s performance against Crystal Palace on Monday, singling out five players.

The Red Devils, aiming to reclaim their spot in European competition, stumbled at Selhurst Park as they lost 4-0 against Palace.

Their downfall commenced with a crucial defensive error in the 12th minute, allowing Crystal Palace to score.

Michael Olise seized the opportunity, effortlessly maneuvering past Christian Eriksen and dodging a weak challenge from Casemiro before scoring past goalkeeper Andre Onana.

In his post-match analysis, Ten Hag didn’t hold back, criticizing the five players for their inability to follow defensive ‘instructions’ and adapt to the game’s dynamics.

“The throw-in where you concede the first goal, that shouldn’t happen and that is as a team because we don’t follow their rules. We don’t adapt to the different situations to organise, to keep control in those situations. Five players over the ball and they have a throw-in, it is not possible,” Ten Hag said told Sky Sports.

“There are five players there and that is a goal that shouldn’t happen because we really give clear instructions of how we should defend this. They didn’t bring it on the pitch and we got hammered.”
