Donald Trump promises ‘bigger & better’ rally after canceling North Carolina event under an hour before due to weather

TERRIBLE weather has stopped Donald Trump’s first political rally since his criminal trial began.

A severe storm in North Carolina caused the former president to cancel the rally less than an hour before the event started.

The rally was supposed to begin at 7 pm, but news of the impending storm stopped it before it could begin.

A few thousand supporters were already in attendance near the Wilmington airport when Trump personally came to the stage to cancel the event.

“They’ve asked us to ask people to leave the site and seek shelter,” Trump said.

“What we’ll do is we’ll make up for this very quickly at another time… We want to keep everybody safe.”

“So, if you don’t mind, if you could just do a rain check,” he asked his devoted followers.

The presumptive Republican nominee promised the crowd a “bigger and better” event at the same location at a later date.

The city of Wilmington declared a severe thunderstorm warning until 7:15 pm, per The National Weather Service.

Afterward, the city is set to be on a severe storm watch for the area until 10 pm.

Residents were told to watch out for strong winds and hail.

Earlier in the day, the storm ravaged through Charlotte producing 70 mph wind gusts and a hail storm.

‘IT’S A WHOLE MESS’

The rally in North Carolina was supposed to be the first event Trump held since his criminal trial began.

The Apprentice star is accused of paying adult film actress, Stormy Daniels, $130,000 to conceal their alleged affair in 2006.

The money was said to have been given to Daniels through Trump’s former lawyer, Michael Cohen, before the 2016 election.

It was said that the ex-president then began repaying Cohen through installments, which he referred to as “legal fees” in company records.

Trump has repeatedly denied the allegations against him, and claims to have never had a sexual encounter with the actress.

He is currently facing 34 felony counts of falsification of business records related to the $130,000 payment.

When speaking to reporters after a court proceeding, he said he should be campaigning for the upcoming election, instead of going to court.

“[But instead] I’ve been here all day,” he fumed, insisting the trial against him is “unfair.”

Trump then held up a stack of news articles that he believed were important to the case.

“The whole thing is a mess,” he said.
