Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has told Governor Ademola Adeleke to desist from shifting blame to his predecessor in office, Adegboyega Oyetola, over his inability to secure the state.

Osun APC expressed concerns that Adeleke was still heaping blame on Oyetola at every given opportunity, after three and a half years in the saddle.

The party in a statement signed by its spokesperson, Kola Olabisi, obtained in Osogbo on Thursday said it was reacting to an allegation by Adeleke that the former governor Oyetola purchased five drones during his tenure which the current administration could not find.

Earlier, the spokesperson to the governor, Olawale Rasheed, had said in a statement said five security drones  paid for under the Oyetola administration, had disappeared.

Rasheed also said Adeleke was considering purchasing new sets of security drones to further enhance security across the state.

But reacting, Olabisi urged “members of the public should discountenance this Governor Adeleke’s blatant lie about the purchase of the drones by former Governor Oyetola being peddled by him in order to misinform the unsuspecting members of the public to score a cheap political point.

“It was our belief that the embattled Governor Adeleke would put an end to the running of his administration with lies and subterfuge towards the tail end of his administration that is winding up in November this year but unfolding events have shown that it is pretty impossible for a leopard to change its colour.”

He declared that Oyetola never purchased any drone throughout his four-year tenure, and challenged Adeleke to come up with documents to prove that that the equipment were actually bought.

He appealed to the members of the public to hold Adeleke responsible should there be a security breach in the state.
