The statement which was signed by the Delta State APC Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo, the party said it had been inundated with reports of a document circulating on social media and falsely presented as an official APC list.

“We state unequivocally that this list is fake, unauthorized and does not emanate from the party in any form whatsoever,” the statement said.

The party accused those behind the publication of attempting to create confusion among members and mislead aspirants and the public, noting that the move was aimed at undermining its internal processes.

It stressed that no consensus candidates had been approved or ratified by the party leadership in Delta State.

“For the avoidance of doubt, no list of candidates has been discussed, adopted or ratified by the leadership of the party in Delta State. Any claim to the contrary is false,” the statement added.

The APC said that while it had indicated a preference for the consensus mode of primaries in line with its constitution, the process remains ongoing.

According to the party, the sale and submission of nomination and expression of interest forms are still in progress, making any claim of finalized candidates premature.

“The party cannot be seen to have adopted candidates while this process is yet to be concluded,” it said, warning that such claims undermine its commitment to due process, fairness and internal democracy.

The party urged members and stakeholders to disregard the circulating list and rely only on verified official communications.

It also cautioned those responsible for spreading the information to desist from actions capable of destabilising party unity.
Reaffirming its stance, the APC said it remains committed to conducting a transparent and credible primary election process.

“Delta APC remains resolute in conducting a credible, transparent and inclusive primary process, and no amount of propaganda will derail this commitment,” the statement added.
