Davido clarifies relationship with Seyi Tinubu after being called out for being performative over his cry out for the country

Nigerian music star Davido has cleared the air on his relationship with Seyi Tinubu, the son of the president.

Hours ago, the singer called out those in the entertainment industry, noting how they fuck up by remaining quiet about the issues in the country. The singer cried out against the injustice, noting that the country is far gone.

“I can’t lie, we entertainers, we dey fuck up, I wouldn’t lie, including me. We need to speak up, it’s too much injustice going on. Our country don go”.

A tweet had knocked him for being performative, noting how he is friends with Seyi Tinubu and is part of the City Boys group chat.

“Na God go punish you and your family. Go and do that performative rubbish in your City Boys group chat and get tf out of my face with all this pretentious nonsense. Na foolish Nigerians I blame”.

Responding to her, Davido said he isn’t part of the city boy group and has been friends with Seyi for years, and that won’t change. He revealed that he often calls and complains to the president’s son, cursing the tweep.

“I no Dey part of any city boy group 2. When I called out the government on American media, you guys rained curses on me 3. I’ve been friends with ST for years, and that’s where it stops, and I call and complain to him all the time, even in person 4 . God Punish ur generation”.

Recently, Davido had called out the former Governor of Osun State, Adegboyega Oyetola. Though not disclosing what happened, he called him the most desperate politician in the world.

Late last year, Davido expressed heartbreak for the young girls who were kidnapped in Kebbi. He noted that no family deserves such pain, and called for unity among Nigerians. Davido also expressed sadness over the tragic attack on the church in Kwara State, stating that these acts of violence must never become the norms.

In another post, he stated that even as he celebrated his birthday, his heart was at home. The singer noted how Nigeria was going through too much and called for peace.

Over the years, Davido has become actively involved in the politics of Nigeria, especially in Osun State.

During the Governorship campaign in Osun State, Davido actively campaigned for his uncle, and when he won, Davido celebrated openly online.

In 2024, he celebrated his uncle on his latest finished project in Osun State. The project in question was a building project in Osun.

Also, in 2024, Davido revealed why he was interested in the Edo State gubernatorial election, as he questioned the police directive for Edo citizens. He declared INEC the most dangerous institution in Nigeria as he admonished Edo indigenes not to bow to them. He noted how he had to fight and rant for the Osun Election to be a success in 2022 and was waiting for Osun 2026.
