A check on the portal of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as of May 5, 2026, shows “Barr. Reuben Egwuaba” listed as National Legal Adviser for both parties.

On X (formerly Twitter), some users described the situation as “legally questionable,” arguing that political parties are expected to maintain distinct executive structures, particularly in sensitive roles such as legal advisory.
