A DAD shot and killed his wife, three of their four children, and himself, leaving behind a massacre whose only direct witness was his sole surviving son, Oklahoma police have said.

His wife Lindsay Candy, 39, and their sons Dylan, 18, Ethan, 14, and Lucas, were also found killed in the home in their home in Yukon, Oklahoma, a suburb of Oklahoma City.
The deaths were confirmed by Oklahoma City Police Department Sergeant Gary Knight at a tearful conference Tuesday morning.
“Make no mistake about it, what happened in that residence was nothing short of a massacre,” he said.
Candy and Lindsay got into an argument late Sunday night or early Monday morning before Candy got a gun and shot his wife multiple times, police said.
He then strategically “hunted” down their three oldest sons before turning the gun on himself, according to Knight.
The following morning, the couple’s youngest son called 911 to report that his family was dead.
Detectives found five bodies scattered throughout the house, with two family members dead upstairs and two more on the ground floor.
At least one child was killed in their bed.
Investigators said the surviving child’s door was shut and a box fan was running in his room which could have protected him from the sounds.
It’s a mystery why the youngest son was spared from the horrific crime.
“In the end, nobody’s going to know the answer to that,” Knight said at the emotional press conference.

‘I ALREADY MISS THEM’
Neighbors who described Candy as helpful and communicative were shocked to hear the heartwrenching news.
Michael Burcham, 68, said Candy was no stranger to others in the cul de sac and that the suspected killer had helped him fix his car and lawnmower.
Candy had guns and food stored in his home, but Burcham didn’t think this was unordinary.
At one point, Candy revealed to his neighbor that he struggled with depression, leaving Burcham wondering later what he could have done to help.

“All day we just couldn’t imagine,” he told The Oklahoman.
“He must have really been having a hard time.”
Officials said they had never gotten any calls to the Candy residence before and didn’t previously suspect domestic violence.
Candy’s surviving son has been taken in by family members.
Police said it’s unclear whether the shooting was planned or spontaneous.
All of the boys were in the same school district, and Mustang Public Schools superintendent Charles Bradley said they were providing resources for students.
“This tragedy simply defies understanding,” Bradley said.
“Our Crisis Response Team has been present at schools today and will continue to be in place moving forward for as long as they are needed.”
According to a LinkedIn page, Candy was a video engineer for Cox Media.
Officials said he worked at Paycom Center, where the NBA team Oklahoma City Thunder plays, as a game night engineer.
