The Benue State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commenced the verification and issuance of nomination and expression of interest forms to aspirants seeking to contest for seats in the state House of Assembly.

According to the party, the exercise which began yesterday at its secretariat in Makurdi, marks the formal start of preparations for the party’s forthcoming primaries.
Declaring the session open, the state chairman of the party, Benjamin Omale, urged all aspirants to conduct themselves responsibly and in accordance with the party’s constitution and established guidelines.
In the statement issued by the state publicity secretary, Benedict Yawe, the party assured the aspirants of a transparent process throughout the exercise and wished them success in their political ambitions.
Earlier, the state organising secretary and chairman of organising secretaries in Nigeria, James Ornguga, briefed the aspirants on the requirements for obtaining the forms.

Ornguga stated that all payments must be made into the party’s national secretariat account, while aspirants are also expected to clear four years of party dues and settle other financial obligations to the party at the state level.
