Basketball: Nigeria, Australia Clash Ahead Of Paris Olympics

As the 2024 Olympics draws nearer, individual and team sports from various countries have continued to strategise on how best to make their impact count when hostilities get underway.

Basketball as one of the Olympic sport is not left out.

Heritage Times HT gathered that already, a high-octane friendly match has been scheduled between Nigeria’s women basketball team D’Tigress and their Australia counterpart.

The double-header games are fixed for John Cain Arena in Melbourne from July 2 to 5.

Australia is placed in the same group as Canada, Nigeria, and the host France.

The Australian side opened the camp early last month with 26 invited players and they are expected to prune down to 12 rosters before the game.

According to the update from the team camp, Australia is scheduled to face China and Japan in similar test games.

For D’Tigress, they are yet to resume camping, but are scheduled to set-up close training in Nigeria and United States of America ahead of the Olympics scheduled for Paris.

The games is slated between July 26 and August 11, 2024.
