The Election Sub-committee of the just concluded 2026 National Convention of the All Progressives Congress(APC) on Thursday presented certificates of return to the newly elected National Working Committee (NWC) members and non-NWC national officers of the party.

Chairman of the Sub-committee who also chaired the National Convention Central Coordination Committee,
Hon. Aminu Masari; Secretary of the panel, Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state and other members of the committee, notably former Speaker Yakubu Dogara made the presentation at the party’s national secretariat, Abuja on Thursday.
Those who received the Certificates of Return include,
National Chairman – Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda;
Deputy National Chairman (North) – Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori;
Deputy National Chairman (South) – Dr Benjamin Nwoye;
National Secretary – Sen. Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru; National Vice Chairman (South-South) – Hon. Victor Giadom and National Vice Chairman (South-East) – Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu.
Others are National Vice Chairman (South-West) – Isaac Kekemeke; National Vice Chairman (North-East) – Barr. Idris Shuaibu, National Vice Chairman (North-Central) – Hon. Mu’azu Bawa Rijau; National Vice Chairman (North-West) – Hon. Garba Datti Muhammad,
Deputy National Secretary – Prof. AbdulKarim Abubakar Kana
and National Legal Adviser – Murtala Aliyu Kankia.
In his remarks, the committee’s chairman Masari said the party and Nigerians expect to see a renewed and motivated NWC members that will perform better than previous ones in implementing the APC manifesto for the progress of the country.
He tasked the Yilwatda-led NWC to brace up for the challenges ahead, especially in the forthcoming primary election when they will be under intense pressure.
“I wish the National Working Committee God’s guidance as we face the task ahead, because we have one Working Committee that has just emerged, and we are immediately confronted with primaries, from the local government level up to the national level.
“So, I wish you God’s guidance and protection, and the wisdom to carry out the task successfully. Normally, parties, especially the National Working Committee, will be under intense pressure during primaries.
“I hope we will be able to resist temptation and do what is right for the benefit of our party and our country. I wish you God’s guidance,” the former Katsina governor said.
Speaking on behalf of the APC NWC, the National Yilwatda vowed to work for the victory of all APC candidates in the 2027 general election from the Presidency to State Houses of Assembly.

He commended the Convention Committee for delivering a hitch-free exercise which was one of the most beautiful conventions ever held in Nigeria without litigations as internal wrangling that used to trail conventions was completely absent.
“The new National Working Committee has held its first meeting, we are committed to the party. The assurance I give you is that we will deepen democracy. We will uphold democracy within the party and ensure stability.
“We will continue to expand the party—keep reaching out, keep engaging, keep mobilising—to increase membership across the country. We must ensure that our party remains strong and focused. We must present clear policies, clear candidates, and a clear direction for Nigeria.
“Our responsibility is to strengthen democracy and build confidence in the political process. We will continue to work hard to ensure that our party remains the platform of choice for Nigerians.
We assure you that this party will work towards credible elections and stronger democratic institutions.
“Our duty is to ensure that we deliver results at all levels—governors, senators, members of the House of Representatives and Houses of Assembly. We will put in all our energy and effort to ensure success for our candidates.
“We will also maintain strong working relationships between the party, the states, and the federal level, ensuring coordination and unity of purpose. We pledge loyalty to the party, loyalty to Nigeria, and commitment to responsible leadership,” the national chairman added.
