APC Chairman, Yilwatda Hosts Kanu Nwankwo, Discusses Politics, Sports, Business

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has hosted Nigerian football legend, Nwankwo Kanu, in a meeting that brought together politics, sports and business.

Naija News reports that the meeting, which took place in the Federal Capital Territory, focused on exploring ways to strengthen the relationship between the three sectors for national development.

According to a statement from the party, the interaction featured wide-ranging discussions on how politics, sports and business could be better harmonised to deliver greater benefits to the country.

Yilwatda stressed the importance of understanding the dynamics of the three sectors, noting that effective collaboration could unlock significant opportunities for national growth.

“Politics, sports, and business can be very interesting if understood,” the APC chairman said.

He added that the conversation centred on achieving balance and synergy across the sectors, particularly by leveraging the influence of sports and enterprise to complement governance efforts.

The APC chairman noted that Kanu’s vast experience as a global football icon and sports administrator enriched the conversation.

Nwankwo Kanu, a former captain of the Super Eagles, is a UEFA Champions League winner and a former Premier League star with Arsenal.

Beyond his football career, he has remained influential in Nigerian sports administration and philanthropy through the Kanu Heart Foundation.

The meeting also acknowledged Kanu’s growing involvement in business and community development initiatives across the country.

Naija News reports that widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s greatest football exports and fondly called “Papilo,” Kanu has long transcended the football pitch, using his platform to drive social impact, particularly in healthcare and youth development.
