Akinrin Day 2026: Oba Otitoju Approves Award Recipients, House of Akinrin Inductees

His Royal Majesty, Oba Johnson Kolade Otitoju, the Akinrin of Ekinrin Land, has approved the official list of award recipients and inductees for this year’s highy anticipated Akinrin Day celebration.

The Planning Committee of Akinrin Day 2026 made this known in a statement on Saturday.

The annual event, which celebrates the rich cultural heritage and progress of Ekinrin Land, is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 13th June 2026.

This year’s honorees have been selected in recognition of their distinguished service, remarkable achievements, and invaluable contributions to the growth, development, and advancement of the Ekinrin Community and society at large.

Eminent personalities approved to receive various categories of awards during the celebration includes, High Chief Morakinyo Otitoju, Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, Mrs. Iyabo Soji-Okusanya, Chief Babajide Kolade-Otitoju, High Chief Shola Samuel Aribido, Dr. Ebenezer Adebayo, Barrister Dayo Babalola, Hon. Ekundayo Funsho Olumoko, Hon. Omotayo Ishaya, Mr. Abdulganiyu Ishola and Omolere Ajibulu.

Others are Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN), Hon. Adetayo Opeyemi Duke and Engr. J. A. Ogunleye.

Distinguished personalities approved for induction into the House of Akinrin are: Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, Prince BenBola Faleke, High Chief Shola Samuel Aribido, Chief Babajide Kolade Otitoju, Mrs. Iyabo Soji-Okusanya, High Chief Prince Morakinyo Otitoju and Barrister Dayo Babalola
