“Nigerians don’t want 24-hour light, they can’t even afford it” — Activist Deji Adeyanju says


Nigerian activist and lawyer Deji Adeyanju has stirred reactions online after sharing his views on electricity expectations in the country.

Speaking on The Honest Bunch Podcast, he argued that many Nigerians are not even asking for round-the-clock power because of the cost.

According to him, what most people want is simple—electricity at key times, especially at night and early morning. He explained that Nigerians would rather have light when they get home to sleep comfortably and early in the morning to prepare for the day.

 

He added that power supply can then be focused on factories and businesses during the day.
