A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress in Osun State, Babatunde Loye, has declared that the party possesses the capacity, vision and leadership needed to place the country on the path of progress and national recovery.

Loye, who is aspiring to represent Osun East Senatorial District in the 2027 election, said Nigerians deserve purposeful leadership capable of restoring hope and stability.

He spoke during the ADC stakeholders’ meeting held at the residence of the National Secretary of the party, Rauf Aregbesola, in Ilesa, according to a statement made available to The PUNCH on Wednesday.

The ADC chieftain blamed the current economic hardship and growing suffering across the country on the policies and failures of the present administration.

He commended Aregbesola for “his consistency and political ideology,” describing him as “an upright and rugged politician who strongly believes in liberty, justice and the welfare of the people.”

Loye further urged the people of the state to come out en masse and vote for the ADC in the August 15 governorship election, expressing confidence in the party’s candidate, Najeem Salaam.

According to him, Salaam remains “a round peg in a round hole” whose experience, competence and leadership qualities make him the right choice to drive meaningful development and restore good governance in Osun State.
