LASEPA schedules pollution control training

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency has announced plans to host a one-day training workshop aimed at promoting sustainable practices in the operation and maintenance of pollution abatement plants across Lagos State.

The workshop, scheduled for Wednesday, May 6, 2026, will be held at ASSBIFI Events & Suite, located within the CMD area of Alausa, Ikeja.

The General Manager of LASEPA, Tunde Ajayi, stated that the initiative was designed to enhance the technical capacity of industry stakeholders and improve environmental management practices.

According to him, “The workshop is designed to help participants develop the competence and practical skills required to improve efficiency in the operation and maintenance of pollution abatement plants,” adding that it would also “encourage the adoption of sustainable practices in operations, safety, and maintenance processes.”

Ajayi noted that the training would reinforce adherence to environmental regulations, stating that it would “ensure compliance with regulatory standards guiding effluent and emissions discharge into the environment,” thereby contributing to a cleaner and healthier ecosystem in the state.

He explained that the programme was targeted at pollution abatement plant operators, maintenance officers, quality assurance personnel, environmental consultants, health, safety and environment officers, facility managers, and relevant government officials.

Also speaking, the Director of the Engineering Services Department, Taiwo Olumuyiwa, urged stakeholders to take advantage of the opportunity, stressing the importance of active participation in advancing sustainable industrial practices across the state.

Interested participants are expected to register through the agency’s official platform ahead of the training.
