An aspirant for the Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, Samuel Adenitan, has stated that his intention to contest the position in the 2027 general election is driven by a commitment to visible, measurable, and impactful all-around development of the constituency.

Adenitan made the promise in Elekuro, Ibadan, on Friday, during the formal declaration of his ambition, which brought together a gathering of party leaders as well as Egbeda/Ona-Ara constituents.

“Our campaign is anchored on development for all—development that you can see on your roads, feel in your homes, and experience in your daily lives,” Adenitan said.

“My decision to run is not driven by the desire for power, but by a commitment to service—service that is visible, measurable, and impactful. I have listened to your concerns. I have walked your streets. I have felt your struggles. And I have come to one clear conclusion: our people deserve better, and better is possible,” he added.

The House of Representatives aspirant assured that if given the mandate, he would encourage entrepreneurship, attract investments that would create jobs within the constituency, and drive infrastructure development that would bring visible progress, including better roads that would reduce travel time and boost commerce, as well as ensuring that completed community projects are functional.

Adenitan stressed that he would support Egbeda/Ona-Ara farmers through modern tools, improved access to markets, and policies that would ensure a stable food supply, emphasising that when farmers succeed, families eat well, and communities prosper.

“If entrusted with your mandate, my focus will be on clear and practical priorities that directly improve your lives. We will pursue industrialisation that moves our people from daily struggle to sustainable income by supporting local businesses, encouraging entrepreneurship, and attracting investments that create jobs within our constituency. Our goal is simple: let our people earn with dignity and grow with confidence.

“We will drive infrastructure development that brings visible progress. Better roads that reduce travel time and boost commerce, stable electricity that powers homes and businesses, and community projects that are completed and functional. No more abandoned promises—only completed projects.

“We will ensure food security so that no family is left behind. Food is not a luxury; it is a necessity. Our farmers will receive support through modern tools, improved access to markets, and policies that ensure a stable food supply. When farmers succeed, families eat well, and communities prosper,” Adenitan said.

He expressed commitment to championing agricultural rejuvenation by making farming profitable again, prioritising youth empowerment by unlocking the potential of young people in the constituency, strengthening quality healthcare, and enhancing the security of lives and property, saying that development cannot happen amidst fear.

“We will prioritise youth empowerment by unlocking the potential of our young people. To the youths of Egbeda and Ona-Ara, you are talented, capable, and ready. What you need is opportunity, and that is what we will provide. Through skills acquisition, job opportunities, and support for innovation, we will ensure that your energy is not wasted, your dreams are not delayed, and your future is not denied.

“We will strengthen qualitative healthcare because every life matters. Healthcare should not be a privilege reserved for a few. We will push for improved healthcare facilities, accessible services, and better delivery systems, because a healthy people is a productive people.

“We will enhance the security of lives and property because development cannot happen where there is fear. We will support proactive security measures to ensure our communities are safe for living, working, and raising families. Our people must sleep with both eyes closed—not in fear, but in peace,” Adenitan said.

Additionally, the House of Representatives hopeful said that if considered for the position, he would embrace leadership that is trustworthy in character, reliable in action, and driven by results.

“My dear people, what we need now is leadership that works—not leadership that only speaks. Leadership that is trustworthy in character, reliable in action, and driven by results. Leadership that listens before it speaks and delivers after it promises. I am prepared to lead with integrity, to serve with humility, and to act with urgency,” Adenitan said.
