2027: Gov. Nwifuru Speaks On Rift With Umahi

Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has dismissed speculations of a rift between him and the Minister of Works, David Umahi.

Naija News reports that Nwifuru, in a statement issued on Sunday by his Chief Press Secretary, Monday Uzor, described claims of having a rift with Umahi as baseless speculation by individuals seeking to sow discord.

The governor emphasised that there is a cordial working relationship with Umahi and they are committed to advancing the progress of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State.

Nwifuru reiterated that the APC remains an indivisible family, where all aspirants to various positions will be treated fairly, in line with agreements reached by party stakeholders.

While assuring that any outstanding issues relating to consensus candidacy would be resolved amicably, Nwifiru emphasised plans to meet with all aspirants in due course.

The Governor further called on stakeholders, aspirants, and party faithful to close ranks and make necessary sacrifices in the overall interest of the party.

Meanwhile, Francis Nwifuru has declared that aspirants with no visible achievements in their constituencies should not bother seeking re-election as the All Progressives Congress (APC) will not repeat its 2023 mistakes in 2027.

Nwifuru made the declaration during the commissioning of roads, classroom blocks, street lights, among other projects by the Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate and Senator representing Ebonyi North Senatorial district, Peter Onyekachi Nwebonyi.

Represented by the state party chairman, Stanley Okoro Emegha, Governor Nwifuru said only aspirants with undeniable achievements in their current or previous positions will be supported to fly the APC ticket in the 2027 elections.
