2027 Assembly Race: Group Endorses MOY, Donates Campaign Vehicle to ADC

In a significant boost to the political movement of Hon. Musa Olumayowa Yakubu (MOY), the ratified aspirant of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the Ijumu State Constituency seat in the Kogi State House of Assembly, a prominent political group, Sabuwar Tafiyar (Movement of the Aggrieved), has officially endorsed his candidacy and donated a customized campaign bus to support ADC activities across the state.

The group, formerly known as PDP Youth Vanguard, has a longstanding political structure and influence. Notably, Hon. Musa Olumayowa Yakubu has served as the Kogi State Coordinator of the group for about a decade. During the 2019 general elections, under the leadership of its National Coordinator, Comrade Eyitayo Joshua, the group played a strategic role by donating campaign vehicles and supporting the Wada/Aro governorship ticket under the PDP.

Speaking during the endorsement, Comrade Eyitayo Joshua stated that their decision was based on MOY’s proven capacity, grassroots connection, and consistent political engagement.

“We have worked closely with him, and he has demonstrated the competence required to effectively represent the people of Ijumu in the State Assembly. MOY is widely known, not only within Ijumu LGA but across Kogi State, for his progressive political activities. This is why we are endorsing him and also releasing this campaign bus through him to support ADC’s activities in Ijumu and across Kogi State,” he said.

He further noted that the donated vehicle would be deployed immediately after the party’s primary elections to strengthen campaign efforts.

Explaining the group’s transition from PDP Youth Vanguard to Sabuwar Tafiyar, Eyitayo described the change as a reflection of growing dissatisfaction with the current political realities in Ijumu, Kogi State, and Nigeria at large.

According to him, “The name ‘Sabuwar Tafiyar’ represents a new direction born out of the aggrieved state of affairs in our society. We believe meaningful change must begin at the grassroots, and Ijumu is where we are starting, given our strength and confidence in MOY.

“With this and the strategic circumstances surrounding his emergence as the party’s preferred aspirant, coupled with the abysmal performance of the current person occupying the position, it is crystally clear that MOY will win the general election convincingly and take over as the member representing Ijumu State Constituency effective from 2027. With this is place, the people of the constituency will not only experience adequate representation but will now begin to have a reasonable taste of what the dividend of democracy is all about.”
