2026 WAEC: Kogi Govt Charge Principals, Supervisors to Adhere Strictly to Guidelines, Regulations

In a bid to maintain a malpractice free examination, Kogi State Commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones, has urged secondary school principals, school administrators and supervisors to adhere strictly with the West African Examination Council (WAEC) guidelines and regulations.

He stated this on Tuesday at the 2026 WAEC briefing for principals and supervisors in Lokoja and Kogi Local Government Areas for the forthcoming WASSCE in the State.

The Commissioner emphasized that any form of negligence, collusion or compromise would be sanctioned in accordance with the Kogi State Education Law 2020.

He charged them to maintain a high level of patriotism, integrity and transparency throughout the conduct of the examination.

He said that the introduction of Computer Base Examination (CBE) by WAEC is a step forward in modernizing assessment system, enhanced efficiency, minimised human error, improved result processing time and would align the educational system with the global best practices in digital assessment.

The Commissioner, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Alabi Albert Bamigbade, added that the success of the new innovation depend on the preparedness of all the stakeholders, saying that the state government has trained students who would be writing the CBE examination across the State in order to equip them with the skills necessary for the examination

He commended the State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for demonstrating an uncommon commitment towards revamping the education industry in the state.

Speaking, the State Controller of WAEC, Mrs. Adebayo O.O called on the principals and supervisors not to condone examination malpractices in their schools.
