Transfer: Boniface relishes ‘special opportunity’ at Bayer Leverkusen

Nigeria forward, Victor Boniface has said moving to Bayer Leverkusen is a “special opportunity” for him and that he cannot wait to contribute to the club’s success.

Boniface linked up with the Bundesliga club from Belgian Pro League outfit, Union St. Gilloise on Saturday.

The striker spent just one season with Union St. Gilloise following his arrival from Norwegian club, Bodo/Glimt.

Boniface was one of the top stars in the UEFA Europa League last season and also scored against his new club at the Bay Arena.

Overall, he scored six goals and provided two assists in the competition.

“Its a special opportunity that I really wanted to take advantage of. I experienced the atmosphere here in the stadium myself, and even then I could guess the capacities that this club has, “he told the club’s official website.

“After our talks I now know: This is a top club with a great team! I’m really looking forward to playing football in this environment and I want to play my part in Bayer 04’s future success.”
