The boys died in the hospital later that day and Bullitt County Detective Richard Beahl revealed in court that they were both shot in the head, with four bullets fired in 30 seconds.

As the murders rock the Bullitt County community, people have looked to Lucas’ social media to get an idea of the woman allegedly behind the killings.

Despite the shocking violence that occurred at the family home last week, social media depicts a happy family and a loving and doting mother.

A series of clips posted on Facebook by Lucas almost a year before their deaths features the trio enjoying a monster truck and BMX show.

In the first video, the two children watch the BMX stunts as Lucas asks: “Do you like it?”

One of the children nods as he watches before the camera turns around to capture the mother smiling as her kids look at the action.

The following clip features the trio laughing at themselves as the children chew their popcorn in a silly way and smile.

Again Lucas asks her sons: “Y’all having a good time?” and her beaming son nods once again before stealing his brother’s popcorn.

Other posts include a status on Mother’s Day where Lucas thanks god for her children and adds: “I don’t think I would know how to smile, love, or survive if it wasn’t for them!

“Even on our BAD days, they shower me with an abundance of love! Always together never apart, 3 souls 1 heart!”

On Monday, the court heard that Lucas claimed the shooting was an “accident” and that she had been “manipulated.”

“I asked Miss Lucas if she meant to hurt her children. She indicated that it was an accident,” said Beahl.

“She also made some comments such as, quote, ‘I’m in such a bad spot. I would never do anything like this unless someone manipulated me.'”

Beahl added that Lucas claimed she was being manipulated through Facebook “through the internet or through Wi-Fi, through Facebook and through her Wi-Fi, being manipulated into doing what she did.”

Family members have been left shocked at the apparent change in the mother with Maurice’s stepmother, Michelle Rice saying, “She showed no emotion. She shows no emotion.”

Lucas is being held at the Bullitt County Detention Center on a $2 million bond.
