In a statement released and signed by the publisher, Mr. Tom Garba, leading news platform Tgnews has extended warm congratulations to renowned civil engineer and continental leader Engr. Mrs. Aishatu Aliyu Umar, PhD, FNSE, FNICE, on her well-deserved promotion to the prestigious rank of Deputy General Manager and Zonal Manager, North Central at the Federal Housing Authority (FHA).

Mr. Tom Garba, on behalf of Tgnews, described the elevation as a “milestone of merit and excellence” that reflects Engr. Umar’s exceptional track record of service and innovation in Nigeria’s housing and infrastructure sectors.
In her new capacity, Engr. Umar assumes oversight of vital housing development, estate management, and urban renewal operations across the Federal Capital Territory (Abuja) and the six states of the North Central geopolitical zone: Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, and Plateau.
The role positions her to spearhead the FHA’s core mission of providing affordable, high-quality housing solutions and driving sustainable infrastructure projects throughout the region.
With more than 25 years of progressive experience in civil engineering, structural design, and project management, Engr. Umar previously held the position of Assistant General Manager (Structural Design) at the Federal Housing Authority (formerly known in some contexts as NHA).
Her career is marked by steadfast commitment to excellence, innovative problem-solving, and dedicated public service.
On the international stage, Engr. Umar continues to shine as the Continental Representative for Africa at the World Council of Civil Engineers (WCCE), where she advocates passionately for infrastructure development, energy transition, and sustainable growth across the continent.
She is a former National Chairman of the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers (NICE) and remains a distinguished Fellow of both the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and NICE.

”Tgnews proudly salutes Engr. Aishatu Aliyu Umar for this remarkable achievement and her tireless contributions to Nigeria and the broader African continent,” the statement read.
”Her rise serves as a powerful inspiration to professionals—particularly women in STEM and engineering—proving that dedication, capability, and visionary leadership invariably lead to the highest rewards.”
