Submit Your Campaign Machinery To Party, Guber Aspirant Charges Colleagues

Ahead of the 2026 governorship election in Osun State, a former gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Dr Akin Ogunbiyi, has announced the dissolution of ‘Idera de’ political movement and collapsed all the structures therein into the umbrella body of the party in the state.

He also pleaded with all the other aspirants, including the party’s governorship candidate, to hand over their campaign structures to the party for a formidable front to effectively work together for the success of the party in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Osun State.

Ogunbiyi who spoke with newsmen shortly after he held a meeting with his supporters across the state in Osogbo on Saturday said since all the aspirants have agreed to work for the success of the party at the polls, it became imperative for them to surrender their private structures to the party hierarchy for effective coordination.

He disclosed that the elders of the party have assured him of the party’s Osun West Senatorial seat candidacy in the 2027 general election, adding that, however, the ultimate goal is for the party to win the August 8, governorship election in the state

His said, “Now that the candidate of the party has emerged, I have come to brief my supporters across the state that there is no more grouping, that all of us, the nine aspirants agreed to work for the party, no more Ogunbiyi group, no more KRAD group, everyone of us, we had a meeting and we resolved that we work to ensure that Bola Oyebamiji emerged governor of Osun State come August 8, this year.”

On Osun West consensus senatorial candidacy, he said, “That I am very sure of by the special grace of God, same way that everybody worked and gave consent to Bola Oyebamiji to be the governorship candidate of our party, in the same token, from what our leaders are saying, our leaders have individually and collectively mentioned to me that I will be given the senatorial ticket, I have no reason to doubt them.”

He charged his people to work hard and refrain from embarking on any form of anti-party tendency that could mar the success of APC at the polls, adding that collective efforts are needed to oust the Adeleke administration from office.
