Saudi Arabia Club Table £259m Heavy Bid For Mbappe

By Victor Kanayo

Saudi Arabia top club Al Hilal have made a world-record £259m bid to convince French football star Kylian Mbappe to come over.

The bid disclosed on Monday via media reports was made after Paris Saint-Germain put him up for sale and left him out of their squad for the pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea.

That was after the club made it clear they only want to include players who are committed to their course.

The free-spending style of Saudi Pro League clubs has been a major talking point this summer, with the likes of Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, Ruben Neves, Edouard Mendy, Marcelo Brozovic, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Kalidou Koulibaly joining Cristiano Ronaldo in the Middle East.

Before Al Hilal Offer

Al Hilal’s record-breaking offer is not the only one PSG have received.

SkySports reports that they have been approached with a mix of offers for Mbappe, including cash plus players, but Al Hilal have shown their intention after tabling a world-record bid.

PSG believe at least five clubs are interested in signing Mbappe, with Tottenham among them.

Also, Real Madrid had also indicated interest in the Forward who has one year remaining contract with the Paris giants, but are yet to make any offer.

Reports also indicate that some Premier League clubs are also interested in getting Mbappe over.

PSG Imbroglio

On his possible future with PSG, the France international is understood to be willing to spend the 2023/24 season on the sidelines and frozen out of the squad if that’s what it takes to get his move to Madrid.

Mbappe reportedly earns around £2m per week at PSG, and is the club’s all-time top scorer and a five-time Ligue 1 winner in Paris.
