In a heartfelt gesture to support the people of Song and Fufore Local Government Areas during the holy month of Ramadan, Hon. Barr. Aliyu Wakili Boya, a member of the House of Representatives representing Hong and Fufore constituencies in Adamawa State, has spearheaded a massive distribution of food items and empowerment materials.
The event, held at his residence in Yola, saw the lawmaker team up with Com. Isa Mustapha Ribbadu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) leader of the Adamawa State chapter, to bring relief to hundreds of beneficiaries.
The distribution included essential food items such as bags of rice, maize, spaghetti, macaroni, vegetable oil, and corn flour, alongside high-value items like five motorcycles and a car gifted to Alhaji Aba.
This has nothing to do with the government. It is my way of supporting my people during this sacred period
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Wakili emphasized that the initiative was a personal act of goodwill, independent of government funding, aimed at easing the burden of the Ramadan fast for Muslim faithful in his constituency.
“This has nothing to do with the government. It is my way of supporting my people during this sacred period,” he said, assuring attendees that more distributions would follow until the Salah celebration marking the end of Ramadan.
The event was not just a one-off relief effort but a prelude to an ambitious empowerment agenda for 2025. Hon. Wakili unveiled plans to expand his ongoing program targeting youths, women, and farmers across Song and Fufore.
By God’s grace, whether I am present or not, a dedicated committee will ensure this program continues
What began as a 90-day initiative, he announced, will now be sustained indefinitely. “By God’s grace, whether I am present or not, a dedicated committee will ensure this program continues. If you are not tired of receiving, we will not be tired of giving,” he declared to resounding applause.
Among the standout projects outlined were the drilling of 200 industrial boreholes to improve water access, investments in rural road infrastructure, and a large-scale scholarship scheme. Over 1,000 students have already been sponsored to take JAMB exams, with an additional 8,000 scholarships planned for students in the two local government areas.
Additionally, Hon. Wakili revealed a groundbreaking economic empowerment plan: the provision of 2,000 spaghetti-producing machines to women to start their own businesses, coupled with monthly cash disbursements ranging from ₦5,000 to ₦100,000 for youths.

Expressing gratitude to key stakeholders, the lawmaker praised their financial and material contributions to the initiative’s success. “Because of them, I can sleep with my two eyes closed,” he quipped, underscoring their unwavering support and dedication to the APC’s vision for Adamawa State.
Hon. Wakili concluded with a call to action, urging residents to seize the opportunities presented.
“This is for you—participate actively and let us build a better future together,” he said. The distribution event, attended by beneficiaries from across Song and Fufore, marked a significant moment of hope and solidarity as the Ramadan season progresses.
With promises of sustained empowerment and tangible deliverables already in motion, Hon. Wakili’s efforts signal a transformative year ahead for his constituents in 2025.
