In a major breakthrough against the rising tide of kidnapping in Adamawa State, operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command, working hand-in-hand with local hunters, have arrested two suspected kidnappers during a coordinated raid in Song Local Government Area.

The operation, which took place on January 24, 2026, targeted a remote criminal hideout in Balma Village, following credible intelligence received by officers attached to the Song Divisional Police Headquarters.
The suspects, identified as Shaibu Mohammadu, 30, and Ja’o Bawa, 31, were apprehended at the scene. Authorities recovered a locally fabricated revolver assault rifle, two mobile handsets, assorted charms, and other incriminating items, which have been secured as exhibits.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the duo confessed to participating in multiple kidnapping incidents across Song and surrounding communities. Police sources indicate that the suspects are part of a larger syndicate, with efforts now intensified to apprehend their fleeing accomplices.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, PSC (+), hailed the successful collaboration between the police and community hunters as a “giant stride” in the ongoing fight against violent crimes.
He reaffirmed the Command’s unwavering resolve to eliminate criminal elements and restore lasting peace across the state.

This latest success comes amid heightened security measures in Adamawa, where authorities continue to record gains against kidnapping and related violent offenses through community partnerships and intelligence-led operations.
Residents of Song LGA and environs have been encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities promptly.
