Just three months into his second term, Donald Trump went to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for an annual physical. That was followed by the president’s “semiannual physical” six months later.

In early January, Trump had what was described as a brief dentist appointment in Florida. In early May, he had another dentist appointment. Early last week, ahead of his 80th birthday, the oldest American president ever elected returned to Walter Reed for his third “annual” physical in 13 months.
On Friday night, a time when the White House tends to release information it hopes the public will overlook, Trump’s physician declared him in “excellent health,” though the three-page report didn’t resolve underlying concerns, in part because the document included some dubious assertions, and in part because it excluded pertinent details.
Four days after the report was released, Mehmet Oz, who leads the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, appeared in the White House press briefing room, where he was asked a good question. MS NOW reported:
Asked why Trump has been getting frequent health checkups recently, Oz suggested the president simply “likes the results.”
“He does really well,” Oz said, adding, “I do actually believe that he is curious to make sure everything is going in the right direction. He’s a very meticulous person in so many ways that are often underappreciated.”
That might have sounded amusing, but he didn’t appear to be kidding.
Initially, one reporter noted not only the frequency of Trump’s medical exams but also the fact that he’s had several CT heart scans. “What are the doctors looking for?” she asked.
Oz took the opportunity to gush about his boss, who was likely watching: “Listen, I work with him frequently, many of you get to see him almost every day. That amount of energy and that amount of mental acuity does not exist in a vacuum. You have to have a vessel to carry it and the president has a unique ability to just keep going at all hours of the day with remarkable strength.”
