Osimhen will join PSG –Agent

Despite claims from Italian transfer expert, Gaetano Fedele, that striker Victor Osimhen is all but set to join an English Premier League club next summer, Dario Canovi, Thiago Motta’s representative, says he is confident that the Nigerian will only join Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Osimhen only signed a new contract at Napoli at the start of the year with his release clause set around €130m.

However, Mbappe’s imminent move to Real Madrid is set to give PSG a financial boost to tempt Osimhen to Ligue 1.

Despite losing Mbappe for free at the end of his contract, the French giants are expected to save around £171m a year on the wages for the France striker.

Fedele had earlier disclosed that the Napoli striker was poised for a summer transfer to the English Premier League due to the clause in his contract granting him permission to sign for any club of his choice.

In a new twist, Canovi said Osimhen told Roberto Calenda (his agent) to start the groundwork for a move to the French giants.

“In my view, it is very likely he will play for Paris Saint-Germain,” Canovi told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

“It would be the smartest signing to replace Kylian Mbappe, who has been a Real Madrid player for months and it’s a farce that they are trying to avoid telling us.”

Osimhen has been strongly linked with a move to Chelsea and Arsenal as both teams prioritise a striker at the end of the season.

Last season, Osimhen scored 26 Serie A goals in 32 appearances as he helped Napoli win their first league title in 33 years but has only managed 11 goals and three assists in 18 appearances in the Italian topflight league this campaign.
