In a surge of political enthusiasm within Adamawa State’s All Progressives Congress (APC) circles, Hon. Barr. Aliyu Wakili Boya has emerged as a top choice for the state’s governorship, with supporters rallying under the banner of unity and progress.

As Nigeria gears up for the 2027 elections, Boya’s rising profile—bolstered by his legislative achievements and recent high-profile endorsements—positions him as a frontrunner to lead the northeastern state toward a “better future.”

The momentum around Boya, currently the Member of the House of Representatives for Fufore/Song Federal Constituency, has been amplified by grassroots campaigns and party insiders.

A recent statement from his media team, signed by A. Sali, encapsulates the sentiment: “One voice, one vision, and one mission: Hon. Barr. Aliyu Wakili Boya is the best choice for Adamawa State. He understands what the people want, and his leadership will help the state move forward.”

The statement emphasizes that “the time is right for the right person to lead,” highlighting Boya’s alignment with APC goals and widespread public support.

Boya’s political journey has been marked by steady ascent. Born in 1978 in Malabu District of Fufore Local Government, he holds a BSc in Public Administration and is a trained lawyer.

His career includes serving as personal assistant to prominent figures like Senator Bello Tukur (2011-2014) and former Adamawa Governor Sen. Bindow Jibrilla in 2015.

Elected to the House in the 2023 general elections under the APC banner, Boya secured a resounding victory as the sole candidate in his constituency.

He now chairs the House Committee on Police Institutions, where he has spearheaded reforms, including the recent establishment of Nigeria Police Training Institutes—one of which will be sited in Malabu, Fufore LGA, bringing jobs and development to the region.

His commitment to community empowerment is evident in initiatives like sponsoring 136 youths from Adamawa to join the Nigerian Police Force and organizing training programs for hundreds of young people and women.

Boya has also received accolades, such as the Award of Excellence from the Women’s Effect Initiative International and an International Peace Award, underscoring his reputation as a disciplined and loyal APC stalwart.

Adding to his growing stature, Boya was recently appointed as Adamawa Director of the City Boy Movement by Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to drive the APC’s 2027 re-election efforts in the state.

This role signals strong national backing and aligns with calls for Boya to pursue the governorship, given his track record as former Executive Chairman of Fufore Local Government and ALGON Chairman in Adamawa.

As one observer put it, “With people supporting him and the party backing him, now is a great time for Hon. Boya to run.” However, the political landscape remains dynamic, with other potential candidates yet to declare.

As Adamawa looks toward 2027, Boya’s campaign theme of “one voice, one vision” resonates amid calls for transformative leadership. Whether this train gathers full steam will depend on the coming months of party deliberations and voter sentiment.
