NPFL: StarTimes announces free broadcast of Akwa, Remo clash

Pay TV brand, StarTimes has announced that the Nigeria Premier Football League clash between Akwa United and Remo Stars on Sunday at Nest of Champions, Uyo Akwa-Ibom will be free-to-view for all active and non-active subscribers on Beta Sports, Channel 244.

StarTimes secured the exclusive rights to air the NPFL matches for five seasons for N5.9bn recently.

PR Manager, Startimes, Lazarus Ibeabuchi, in a statement on Sunday, promised to deliver high-quality coverage of the top-flight league.

“The return of the NPFL on TV is a welcome development for Nigerian football fans, who have been starved of local action for months. Fans should expect high-quality entertainment, drama and passion, as the teams fight for glory, pride and survival. Don’t miss the opportunity to watch the NPFL live on StarTimes, the home of African football,” Ibeabuchi said.

On how to watch the newly launched Beta Sports Channel, where the game will be beamed for free he said, “Viewers have to use their remote controls to scan the decoder.”
