Also, counsels to the second and third respondents, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and INEC objected to Hudu giving oral evidence.

According to reports, the respondents, opposed Hudu giving any evidence on grounds that his written witness was yet to be tendered to them.

Furthermore, counsel to INEC argued that the electoral umpire,  claimed that it was not  furnished with any information as to whether their staff was going to testify in favour of the APC candidate which left the tribunal in shock.

Armed operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) along with policemenmen, on Sunday, barred journalists from covering the Adamawa State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal. They blocked the entrance into the courtroom and turned journalists away.

Binani had listed the Suspended REC, Yunusa-Ari as her star witness, in the suit she instituted at the tribunal seeking to nullify the election of Governor Fintiri.

Yunusa-Ari, had during the April 15, 2023 governorship supplementary election, declared the APC candidate, Senator Binani, as the winner of the poll before the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC upturned the decision.
