NEDC, Debbie Kauna Foundation Bring Relief to Over 200 Patients at Modibbo Adama Teaching Hospital in Yola

The North East Development Commission (NEDC), in partnership with the Debbie Kauna Foundation, has distributed vital food and non-food relief items to more than 200 patients at the Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital (MAUTH) in Yola.

The initiative, which took place recently, provided essential support to individuals undergoing medical treatment, many of whom face additional hardships due to economic challenges and the lingering effects of conflict in the region.

Supervising the distribution, Barrister Khalifa M. Lawan, the Adamawa State Coordinator for the NEDC, emphasized that the gesture aligns closely with the commission’s core mandate of social responsibility.

“This intervention is part of our broader humanitarian strategy to improve living conditions, restore dignity, and support livelihoods across North East communities,” Barr. Lawan stated.

He highlighted that extending assistance to hospitalized patients—particularly vulnerable groups affected by hardship—is a key priority in addressing immediate human needs.

The relief packages included food items to sustain patients and their caregivers during extended hospital stays, alongside non-food essentials to ease the burdens of treatment and recovery.
