Nigerian singer, Seun Kuti, and his wife, Yetunde Kuti, said cheating on each other can’t end their marriage.
The couple who disclosed this during a special Valentine’s Day edition of TVC News breakfast show “Your View” said infidelity is not a deal-breaker in their marriage.
“I am not going to leave my husband because he cheated on me. Nah. That cannot happen,” the wife said.
On his part, the Afrobeat singer said that they do not believe in cheating; he, however, said it has no effect on their love.
“We do not believe in cheating. No. I will not leave her. What does that get to do with anything?”
“Let me tell you something about Africa. African men knew this 500 years ago, 300 years ago, 200 years ago. But today, we African men are forming as if we do not know what is going on.
“In Africa, only your sister’s children inherit from you. Because they are the only ones you are sure are your blood.
“The heir to the king is the sister’s child. Not his own children. Because he is not sure.
“I am not saying it is okay that my wife cheats on me. African men knew that your blood was matrilineal.
“Even though she is not your sister’s husband’s child, you are sure she is your sister’s child, which is your blood.
“There is no such thing as cheating. Love is not ownership.”
