The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Delta State, Ovie Omo-Agege, on Monday lost the governorship seat to the Peoples Democratic Party’s Sheriff Oborevwori.

In the governorship election that took place on Saturday, Omo-Agege polled a total of  240,229 votes which was 120,005 votes short of what his counterpart in the PDP polled. Oborevwori secured 360,234 total votes.

Despite being the deputy president of the Senate and the senator representing the Delta State Central Senatorial District, Omo-Agege won in only four local governments out of 25 local government areas in the state.
