Nigerian Afrobeat singer Chinedu Okoli, better known by his stage name Flavour, has thrown a shade at his colleague, KCee.
Taking to the micro-blogging platform Twitter now known as X, he shared an angry post calling out KCee for copying him. Though he didn’t mention his name, it was obvious, he was referring to him.
He tweeted, “Copy copy Akaria”.
One social media user, identified as Maria Use Nwachi, alleged that Flavour isn’t happy with KCee and his elder brother, E-Money, because they did something a bit desperate. He revealed that Flavour and Phyno did a song with Theresa Onuoha, and immediately, KCee learned of it; he allegedly went to do a song with her and scheduled a date of release before that of Phyno and Flavour.
Another had claimed that KCee was fond of sampling Flavour’s song.
Netizens had something to say about the alleged beef.

Flavour has no doubt come a long way. In 2022, he made headlines after reports claimed he had bagged a multi-million naira dollar deal with Amazon Prime. He received a 3 million dollar advance payment for his biopic on Amazon Prime.
In a recent interview, the Highlife singer shared some candid moments about his views on whether he can be classified as an Afrobeats artist or not. He said his genre of music is ‘African’ music, and as such, he can be categorized under Afrobeats.
The singer said the African entertainment scene needs to push forward other genres, as there was too much focus on Afrobeats. He also said that Afrobeats should just be categorized as being part of Afrobeats, as there’s so much more that Africa has to offer.
