Gov. Fintiri Commences Local Government Councils Tour, Reaffirms Infrastructure Drive

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has commenced a statewide tour of the 21 local government councils, aimed at deepening grassroots engagement, assessing development projects, and strengthening the bond between government and the people.

The tour, which combines town-hall style interactions with project commissioning and inspection of ongoing works, is designed to give the Governor first-hand insight into local needs while also allowing communities to appraise government performance. According to the Governor, the exercise underscores his administration’s belief that governance must be people-centered and responsive at the grassroots.

Ganye Local Government Area marked the first stop of the tour, where Governor Fintiri reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to infrastructure development across Adamawa State. Speaking during a one-day visit at the Gangwari Square, the Governor addressed youths, women, traditional rulers, and other stakeholders, outlining key policies and programmes of his government.

He highlighted free and compulsory education, youth and women empowerment initiatives, and job creation as core pillars of his administration, noting that these interventions are designed to improve living standards and expand economic opportunities for residents.

Governor Fintiri emphasized that over the past six and a half years, his administration has made substantial investments in critical infrastructure, particularly in road construction, healthcare, and public facilities. He cited the completion of the Ganye–Sanga Sumi road as a landmark achievement that has improved connectivity, boosted commerce, and eased movement for residents of the area.

As part of the visit, the Governor commissioned several completed projects in  Ganye Local Government.

The local government tour is expected to continue across the remaining councils, with similar engagements, project commissioning, and on-the-spot assessments, as the Fintiri administration pushes forward its development agenda and consolidates grassroots support across the state.
