Former Bayern Munich midfielder Owen Hargreaves has revealed a very grave mistake made by the new owners of Chelsea that led to the recent crisis.
Owen Hargreaves wondered why the Blues new owners would allow sports administrators such as Petr Cech, Marina Granovskaia and others leave the club.
The former Manchester United midfielder noted that these were the people who should have steadied the ship at Stamford.
Ripping into Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly, the former England man feels he is the reason for the club’s poor season.
“You get new owners and Todd Boehly comes in, they get rid of Petr Cech, Marina Granovskaia, they got rid of all the football people at that club,” Hargreaves told Premier League Productions.
“Why would you get rid of all the football people? Now it looks like there are no football people at the club. The decisions they have made, it has been a mess, it has been reckless, spending £600m and finishing in the bottom half is ridiculous really.”
